Juhi and Mitchel. They met in 2019 in Sri Lanka, Juhi was there on a bachelorette trip for one of her friends, and Mitchel was there making a road trip in a rented tuk-tuk with friends.

At a party in the South of Sri Lanka they first saw each other, there was a spark when they had eye contact. They slowly started talking and immediately connected on a very deep level. They met one more time in Sri Lanka during their holiday, then Mitchel went back to Europe, and Juhi went back to India but they exchanged numbers before they left Sri Lanka.

A couple of weeks after that Mitchel booked a ticket to Mumbai for a long weekend to basically go on a date. They had a lot of fun, and got more and more convinced that this was something special worth fighting for.

Mitchel went one more time to India to attend an Indian wedding of a friend of Juhi in jan 2020, and after that the plan was that Juhi would go to The Netherlands, but unfortunately Covid hit, and all their plans had to be cancelled. For more than a year, they were video-calling every day, and missing each other deeply. Eventually after restrictions eased a bit Mitchel was able to go to India again to meet Juhi’s parents. Juhi went to Europe to meet Mitchel’s family. And Mitchel’s parents also visited India and met Juhi’s parents in Jan 2022

After that they started planning their wedding, which took place in the lovely Goa in January 2023. It was a 3 day wedding affair with all Indian rituals and ceremonies. They exchanged vows by the sea against the beautiful Goan sunset. Now after an amazing wedding with all their loved ones Juhi and Mitchel are happily married and started living together in Amsterdam.
